And We Have Another One...

Yes...Its true!  I have a NEW member on my Doodle Dragon Crew.  Many of you might have seen her commenting on your blogs, she is just that dedicated!  She has been apart of my challenges for a while now and has created fabulous stuff.  Give a warm Pike welcome to Box Of Colours.

Here is a little about Jane for your reading pleasure.

Hello everyone, my name is Jane Allen, although many in the crafting world know me as Box of Colours.  I live in Bedfordshire, England and have been married to my husband Peter for nearly 17 years and we have one son, Ben.  Although Peter is a farmer, we don’t actually live on a farm, having said that we do on occasion have a tractor parked outside the front of the house!  Oops, I nearly forgot the last member of the family, Roo, our Westie, dim but adorable!!
I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil, an artistic flair I inherited from my Grandmothers, both of whom were talented artists.  Over the years I have tried my hand at many different things – before I got in to card making I was painting portraits in watercolour, somewhat unforgiving if you make a mistake but ideal when Ben was small. Can you imagine the mess curious little fingers would make if I had been painting in oils. Due to a house move a few years ago I packed up my paints & took up card making.  Before long I was hooked on die cutting, a hobby which ultimately led me to designing over 20 Exclusive Quickutz dies. Then, last summer I bought my first Copic Sketch!  Like with the watercolours, I’ve taught myself, so I probably break all the rules, but hey if it works for me why worry!  It wasn’t long before my small collection of markers had grown to a complete set & I soon discovered the wonderful world of Digital Stamps.
That’s when I stumbled across a guy called Dustin Pike. His quirky, fun images appealed to my sense of humour and I’ve been honing my Copics skills using his stamps ever since, many of which can be seen on my blog HERE.  I am thrilled to been asked to join the team & look forward to working with Dustin and the gang.
Here are a few of my favourite creations:

DoodleDragon Crew Introduction...New Addition

I am excited to welcome our latest DoodleDragon Crew member.  She has been a faithful follower and commenter for such a long time.  She is very creative and I have been keeping an eye on all she has done...you might have even gotten comments on your blog posts from her in the past...she is just that dedicated.  So I am thrilled to have her join my Crew.

Keep on commenting and sharing your Doodle Dragon Studios projects...I just might have my eye on YOU too...

Now introducing Gramma...

Hi everyone.   I am known in the crafting world and to my three beautiful grandchildren as “Gramma.”   I get called other names too, but we needn’t talk about that here J I am a retired mother of two great kids Carrie and Michael, and as I mentioned three beautiful grandchildren Ashlynn (almost 5), Jared (almost 3) and little Norah (8 months).
I live in a small rural town in Western New York with my dear husband Ron.  He is the love and joy of my life and I owe him everything. We’ll be celebrating our 38th anniversary in 2011...seems like yesterday that we met.

I started card making a few years ago when one of my daughters friends introduced me to the “Xyron X”  sticker thingy.  The rest just snowballed from there.  I love to color Dustin’s fabulous images with Copic markers …which is a new obsession for me.  Not Dustin’s images… I’ve been his #1 fan since I saw them for the first time.. I’d love to have an ounce of his talent.  For Dustin and the Great design team at Doodle Dragon Studios to invite me to be a part of their crew is certainly one of my life’s highlights.
Here are a couple of my favorite Dustin Pike images.

you can see more of my work HERE on my blog.

Again, welcome Gramma to the "Crew".

Meet the Team Pt 1

As I have said in the past my art would be mostly black n white if it weren't for my Design Team. Sure their links are on the side of my blog, but I thought is would be nice to point them out one at a time and give them the recognition they deserve for all their hard work and talents, each members brings their own unique style to their cards and I thought it would be fun to spotlight their works....

Please take a minute while out blog hopping to stop by Michelle's blog as well as any other member of my design team to see the things they come up with weekly. It's amazing...Next I will feature http://designsfromwithin.blogspot.com...

Design Team Members

After days of driving myself absolutely crazy, picking 76 from 119, narrowing that down to 42 all the way to 10 was impossible, In the end I went with 15...

Honestly this is the worst part of all of this.... ugh, my stomach hurts, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I don't want anyone feeling left out. I have seen more talent from all the entries received these past few weeks than I have in my entire lifetime as an artist.

I could go on and on about how much this is.....OK enough rambling...

Here are my 15 Design Team Members in no particular order...

1 Paula Carr
2 Charlotte De Zwart
3 Ginny (V) Christiansen
4 Jason Casper
5 Ri
6 Peggy Marsh
7 Becky in East Tennessee
8 Poppet
9 Cheri Howard
10 Tracey Cuccia
11 Michelle Redman
12 Lana Clarke
13 Dominique Hornberger
14 Veronica Reed
15 Leila Pierce

If I mis-spelled your name I apologize. These members will be on my Design Team for 4 months, in August I will be doing this all over again unless no one applies because they are mad at me... Believe me I am not looking forward to that.

Members if you could PLEASE send me an email so that I can add your email to my list, I would greatly appreciate it, if you were chosen and for some reason since applying have decided not to do this please let me know as well. I will be adding guest designers to the mix once I figure out how all of that works, if you were not chosen and would like to be a guest designer during the next 4 months please let me know...

Sunday This n That

No this isn't the announcement for my Design Team, that will come later this evening. I have been working on a lot this week, Drawing, Design Team stuff, and Honey Do stuff, I repainted my whole bedroom this past week, looked for another job and finished the second to last Dance competition of the 2009 season yesterday... Woo Hoo.

One thing I did do was move my Digi Stamps over to my site. Dustinpike.com it's a part of my personal site that has 2 pages with all the Digis I have avaialble. No more selling out on Etsy and payloadz will deliver the files right to you so there is no chance of me missing an email or deleting one I shouldn't. I will keep the ones up on Etsy until they are sold out just because I have already payed to list them. Once they are sold out they will not be renewed and will be on my site. This might cause a little confusion in the beginning, but in the long run it will be better for all of us.

This past week I did a little interview for a friend Joni found here, if you get the urge to read a little more about me you are invited to visit her blog...

That's all for right now, back to the selection process for my Design Team....
