June 3rd Freebie

Today's freebie is here

Design Team Samples Using today's Freebie

I was also going to ask if there is a need for backgrounds larger stamp sized to be the background of your creations, IF so is there a standard size? and themes you would use quiet often, like a balloon and confetti background for birthday cards...things along those lines...

Backgrounds would be cool! Confetti would be nice, or some "accompaniments" to your other stamps for use in scenes (a castle or bricks, hills, trees, etc.)

A nice size would be 5x7, so they could be used for the "standard" 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cards or 5x5 cards. Just my two cents.

I would love some backgrounds. Birthdays, flowers, cupcakes, bugs, etc. I would especially love scenic backgrounds such as grass, sky, a tire swing, a bench with grass or flowers nearby, beach-like scene, various places that I can use to stage characters that are sitting or swinging on something. I can have you drawing for hours *LOL* The standard card base is 4.25 by 5.5 inches so realistically you can have 4 themed backgrounds per sheet of paper available as a set or individually. I wouldn't mind other things that could be used to make my own embellishments either. Images that will work well with various circle and scallop punches. Flowers that can be cut out and layered, button images with and without designs on them-that can be used in place of real ones, fishing lures to go with the fisherman image, a beach ball to go with your swim dragon, etc. If you need more just let me know I'm sure I can come up with lots and lots of things. BTW thanks for the freebie.

Thanks for the freebies - Love the look he has on his face LOL!!! Backgrounds sound great...Beach Stuff: Sand and Waves, A Castle for the Dragons, A Pinic type/park and blanket for the Ants. The standard card size is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 but lots of us make 5" x 5" and 6" x 6" as well, so I'm hoping it's something that can fit the larger cards like mine :)

Hi all,

Thanks Dustin for the great freebies!! I am totally hooked on your site...

Ladies, I saw that lots of you wanted to have Dustin make a certain size of image... Remember that you can resize all of his images by inserting them into a word document (or Photoshop) and then dragging on one of those little boxes in the corner of the image. This is the joy of Digital images. Hope this helps!!

Yes, the images can be resized, but depending on the image, it may be necessary to retain the propotions, therefore it's good to start out with sizes that are actually used in card making: a square backgound (for those 4x4,5x5 and 6x6 cards) and a rectangual background for those A2 cards (4.25 x 5.5) that we make from our 8.5x11 cardstock), a 4x6 background (that we make from our 12x12 sheets of cardstock) and possibly a 5x7 (which I imagine you make by folding and trimming an 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock, though I've never made one that large myself).
Hope this is helpful to you when considering creating backgrounds.
Regards -
